  • Isaiah 40 - The Grass Withereth - 42x42

Isaiah speaks about the Messiah—Prepare ye the way of the Lord—He will feed His flock like a shepherd—Israel’s God is incomparably great.

6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:  7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.  8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

This landscape is the metaphor of the grass and flower. The foreground grass is composed of frayed twine. The work is 8" deep allowing for the 8x8x6" shadow box inset in the center. A withered rose is suspended in the box with petals blowing off of it and across the panel. (Flower and petals coated in clear resin and the box lit with LED's).

Acrylic, twine, flower and petals on panel.
